I think it is unlikely Avram Grant likes the sight of Manchester United. His first and last games in charge of Chelsea were defeats to us and we put nine goals past his Portsmouth team last season. I have nothing against the guy but we enter this fixture needing a feast of goals and this West Ham side appear to be the ideal dish.
United showed a real lack of killer instinct against Fulham and Fergie won’t want Chelsea to get too far ahead too soon. With Liverpool and Everton looming there will be no room for complacency here. It is time for Rooney to score a goal or two and the manager will have let him know that.
