Good collection, Mark, (well, it included one of mine). One of the great things about football is its unpredictability. Today’s game against Birmingham was a good example. A Martian who didn’t understand about goals would have thought that the away team massacred the team in blue. Half-time score 1-0 to the team in blue. The same Martian would have thought that the second half was much more even and that, indeed, the team in red was saved by their goalie a couple of times. But the team in red won the second half. Perhaps the Martian might have thought that games were won by the number of corners, in which case the red team won 12-2. I wish.

Then there was perhaps the great comedy moment of 2010. Blue player comes into innocuous contact with red player and runs on for about 10 yards. It then dawns on him (because he’s a bright lad) ‘Hey, that’s Fletcher and he’s on a yellow card’. Cue for a stumble to the floor which would get him a part in any 10th rate Christmas pantomime.

But the points are dribbling away from us….
